We offer multiple ultrasounds during your pregnancy. For example, we can already plan an early ultrasound at 7 weeks, you will receive a term ultrasound around 10-12 weeks of pregnancy and at 36 weeks we look at the growth and position of your baby. In addition to these ultrasounds, you can choose whether you want to use the 13-week ultrasound and 20-week ultrasound. The baby is checked from head to toe. Your midwife will provide more information about this during the check-up.

The term ultrasound, 13 and 20 week ultrasound are reimbursed by the health insurence.

In addition to the ultrasounds that are reimbursed by the insurance, you can opt for additional ultrasounds such as the gender-determining ultrasound, a 2D/3D ultrasound or an extra growth measurement.

Birth

During pregnancy, you gradually prepare for your delivery, which is now almost in sight. After months of waiting, your baby will be born soon. This is one of the most special experiences in your life, but it can also be very exciting. Good preparation for childbirth is therefore very important. To make this important event in your life a pleasant experience, good preparation and discussing your wishes is very important. During the Birth plan check-up, you and the midwife discuss your wishes and needs (together with your partner). We can then offer you the best guidance that suits you. In any case, make sure you have a bag ready around the 37th week of pregnancy in case you need to go to the hospital.

Pregnancy is a special but sometimes exciting period in which you can feel insecure. We would like you to be able to enjoy this and are there for you during this special period. We are happy to guide you during your pregnancy, delivery and postnatal period, and we are happy to provide you with the right information.

START YOUR PREGNANCY HEALTHY

folic acid

It is important to take extra folic acid during pregnancy.Folic acid is a vitamin (B11). It reduces the risk of neural tube defects such as an open skull, open back, open palate or cleft lip.

Folic acid is found in various foods such as green leafy vegetables, oranges, bananas, legumes, yeast and milk. This will be sufficient if you are not pregnant. During pregnancy you need extra folic acid. It takes about 4 weeks before additional folic acid is absorbed into your body. Therefore, start taking folic acid as soon as you want to have children.

Advice:

Take one tablet of 0.4-0.5 milligrams of folic acid every day. You can buy these tablets at a drugstore or pharmacy. You do not need a doctor’s prescription for this.

Are you already taking folic acid? Continue with this until week 10 of your pregnancy. Are you not taking folic acid yet?

Then start as soon as possible and continue until your 10thweek ofpregnancy.

 

Multivitamin

If you have a healthy and varied diet during your pregnancy, taking extra vitamins is not necessary. If you still want to use a multivitamin, choose one for pregnant women. This contains less vitamin A. Too much vitamin A is not healthy for the baby.

Multivitamins for pregnant women often already contain the required amount of folic acid. You can find this on the package insert. If this is 0.4-0.5 milligrams, you do not need to take separate folic acid tablets.
