Obstetric Care
We offer multiple ultrasounds during your pregnancy. For example, we can already plan an early ultrasound at 7 weeks, you will receive a term ultrasound around 10-12 weeks of pregnancy and at 36 weeks we look at the growth and position of your baby.
In addition to these ultrasounds, you can choose whether you want to use the 13-week ultrasound and 20-week ultrasound. The baby is checked from head to toe. Your midwife will provide more information about this during the check-up.
Did you know that you can also contact us with questions about becoming pregnant (healthy)? We will answer your questions during a personalized consultation.
Breastfeeding is natural. But will it come naturally? You and your baby are definitely made for it. However, it often takes practice. After birth, everything is new to you. Women who are already preparing in pregnancy are more likely to breastfeed.
Because we give every mother and her baby the best start, we offer the course:
'This is how you breastfeed'
In this course you will learn exactly what you need in one evening. We practice very practical with positions and latching on your baby, in a small group with upcoming moms. We also prepare you for pumping, so that you and your baby can enjoy the benefits of breastfeeding for a long time.
Midwifery practice Aanvang stands for excellent care. With us you always get that little bit extra! Personal attention is most important. For example, we plan 20 minutes for a check instead of the usual 10 minutes.
In addition to the little extra that we already offer, we also notice that there is an increasing need for customized care. That is why we offer different packages. This way you can compose the care around the pregnancy that grands your wishes.
During your pregnancy you will regularly visit the midwife. In the beginning of the pregnancy this will be monthly, at the end you will visit every week. The checks are intended to monitor your health and the development and growth of the baby. We will measure your blood pressure at every check-up, monitor the growth of your baby and listen to the heartbeat. During the checks we get to know each other better and there is room to ask questions.
Breastfeeding is a beautiful and special moment for many mothers, but sometimes they experience problems with breastfeeding. In such cases we can offer extra help in the form of a lactation consult.
After about six weeks you will come to us for a follow-up check.
Together we look back on the period of your pregnancy, delivery and maternity period.
What is it like to be a parent and do you have any questions for us?
It is nice to talk about this period together.
We coordinate the care and contact moments together so that you can make optimal use of our knowledge, but also take the rest that is so important during this period.
Maternity care is unique in the world. Apart from the Netherlands, there is no other country in the world where women receive care at home from a nurse who supports them in the first week after birth.
When you think the labor has started, you can reach us 24 hours a day on our emergency number.
